A 1964 British hallmarked 9ct gold pendant with a story behind it.
Originally one half of a pair of cufflinks, converted into four individual pendants — three remaining. Each shows a finely engraved lark standing on a perch, framed by a crisp bevelled border with zigzag detail to the edges. The engraving is confident and precise, the kind of workmanship that suited a gentleman's cufflink and translates beautifully into a pendant with real character.
Bird motifs have held their ground in jewellery for good reason. The lark specifically carries associations of freedom, optimism and the dawn — a quiet symbol that never dates and never needs explaining.
One cufflink from the original pair carries the full British hallmark for 1964. All four pendants have been tested to match. Each is finished with a new large soldered jump ring, ready to hang from anything from a fine antique chain to a heavier belcher.
Three remaining. Price per pendant. Chain not included.
