Layaway Payment Plans

Layaway is available on selected pieces as a flexible way to spread the cost of your purchase. These plans are offered at my discretion and must be understood before the first payment is made. Entering a layaway plan is taken as acceptance of the terms below.

How Layaway Works

A layaway plan allows you to pay for an item in agreed instalments. The piece is reserved exclusively for you for the duration of the plan and is removed from sale.
The item remains the property of Celestine & Opal until the balance has been paid in full. No goods are dispatched before the final payment is received.

Payment Methods

All layaway payments must be made via UK bank transfer, PayPal Friends and Family, or Wise.
These methods allow layaway plans to run without the platform processing fees that apply to card payments and third-party checkout systems.

Non-Refundable Payments

All layaway payments, including deposits and instalments, are non-refundable. These payments act as compensation for reserving the item, removing it from sale, administrative time, and the impact on small-business cashflow.

If the layaway is cancelled by you or if payments are not completed, all payments already made will be forfeited.

Missed or Delayed Payments

If a payment is missed or significantly delayed without prior agreement, the layaway may be cancelled.
If cancellation occurs:
• any payments already made will be retained
• the item will be re-listed for sale
• you will not owe the remaining balance

Returns After Completion

Once the final payment has been made and the item has been dispatched, the purchase is complete.
Layaway purchases are not eligible for change-of-mind returns or exchanges.

Your statutory rights still apply if an item is faulty or not as described.

Please ensure you understand the payment schedule and the conditions above before entering a plan. Starting a layaway counts as acceptance of these terms.

Layaway is offered as a courtesy to help make higher-value antique and vintage pieces accessible. These terms ensure the process remains fair, consistent, and sustainable while protecting both you and the business.
