Fifteen carat gold has a presence all of its own. It is rich, warm, and no longer made, which makes every surviving piece feel that bit more important. This bracelet by Williams & Co was made in 1902, and it shows off everything that makes 15 carat so addictive.
The curb links are a bold 8 mm wide and she weighs 17.9 grams, enough to feel substantial without being cumbersome. The colour is that deep, mellow yellow you only get from this gold, a shade you can pick out instantly if you know it.
She measures roughly 7.5 inches, with her original heart padlock and safety chain still in place. The hallmarks are crisp and clear, a rare thing for a piece that has seen over a century of wear. There are no dinks, no dents, nothing that distracts from the fact she has been beautifully kept for more than 120 years, a beautifully preserved example of a hard-to-find piece.
