Four gold claws grip a deep hardstone ball — possibly onyx, its surface a rich dark lustre that catches light with a quiet intensity. The contrast between the warm 15ct gold setting and the dark stone is exactly right. Bold without being loud. Some age related pitting to the ball adds to the antique character rather than detracting from it.
